Going on Derek's comment that letterspacing changed things, I tried it and learned that changing the letterspacing appears to correct the problem for the Clarendon and Eurostile fonts as well. I have checked on my wife's computer, which has a Laserjet Postscript printer as the default bought in January , so about the same age as Sandie's. I also downloaded several other fonts from that site and found that Bodoni is not the only one that presents problems. How these fonts display in WP is determined by the font mapping. Helvetica may be a printer font or a Postscript font. Times New Roman has not been affected. The problem has now been reproduced by another member here.

They were supplied by Kyocera, the manufacturer of the printer. But thank you for confirming there is no issue on WIn 7.
When WP is uninstalled, fonts such as Bodoni are not deleted. Experimenting further with newly-created documents: The text displays with slightly odd spacing; i. In the WP dialog shown below, the term refers to the font which will be used by the printer. The fonts all work normally, just like any other font. I uninstalled AngieOT, in its six versions bold, italic, etc. The default fonts on the affected documents was not changed; they still have the same default font they were saved with; those fonts just don't display correctly anymore.
This has CG Times, Univers etc. With one of the troublesome fonts chosen in WP: Or do I just have to either change the default font or tb the letterspacing each time I open one of the documents saved in the affected fonts?
We tested on other computers and found the problem affected only WordPerfect, not Word, and occurred on both XP and Windows 7 systems, in WP 10, 14, and Try this and see what happpens.
That made no difference to the affected documents.

Sorry db whilst I am very grateful for the advices here, I wish now to draw this to a close because this is a problem on XP and I now have Corel carrying out tests on XP equipment to validate the issue. All service packs have been applied on both machines Now for the good news. I've tried it on three others besides the HP that I use regularly.

Best wishes to you all. I double-clicked on the fonts in Reveal Codes in the affected documents, as directed above. I dont know if WP uninstall actually removes the fonts it installed.
Yes I am sure thank you. Now here is an extract from the Kyocera readme file: I would suggest posting this as a separate thread because my problem is resolved in so far as we know exactly why the font does not work in WP. Have you tried uninstalling the Bodoni font from your computer and installing the Bodoni font from your WPx3 disc? I guess thats the issue but bf for programs like Vodoni Word.

Click the General tab. Also, changing the default font for bf affected document to Times New Roman solved the display problem for those documents. Some software, or some font perhaps is causing this anomoly but I havent found it yet.

Apologies to Goldman for missing the point that the problem on Windows XP. I take the opportunity to thank all the contributors here for the advice, support and idead and for confirming the incident.
On the WPx3 disc the Bodoni font is named as follows: If so, the problem likely has to do with your video driver. I do not have the problem you have described.
